Lakeview Baptist Church … Every Day Believing For Greater Things!

God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or dream, according to His power that works in us.” … Ephesians 3:20

I love the month of April for many reasons … For years I have referred to the month of April as Resurrection month. Every year, after a long hard winter we begin to see – hear – and even smell new life. The Bradford Pear trees begin to bloom followed by the Dogwood trees and then all then we to notice that all the other trees have green blooms and as my granddaughter loves to say, “Pap, all the trees are waking up.” The buttercups are blooming a bright yellow color, and flowers of all kinds are coming to life! The grass is turning green … birds are singing … it’s as though, all of God’s creation is coming back to life! And I like to think that it’s all coming back to life for one reason … to celebrate our Resurrected Savior! All the earth is praising Him right before our eyes to see … our ears to hear and our noses to smell!

Have you also noticed that the entire world stops to acknowledge it … Resurrection time that is. I mean, think about it for a movement … there would be … no Bunny Rabbit … no Easter Egg Hunts … not even a Sun-Rise service if it were not for the fact that Jesus arose! There would be no occasion for celebrations if it were not for our Risen Savior!

So many different forms of celebrating Easter … But then there’s Resurrection Sunday! Oh, I know … the world refers to it as Easter Sunday … but the real reason for Easter Sunday is the RESURRECTION!

So let all the celebrations begin, because … THERE IS NO GREATER TIME THAN RESURRECTION DAY!!!!

Who Is Jesus?

In Chemistry … He turned water into wine!

In Biology … He was born without the normal conception!

In Physics … He disproved the Law of Gravity when He ascended into heaven!

In Medicine … He cured the sick & the blind without administering a single dose of drugs!

In History … He is the beginning and the end!

So who is He? … He is Jesus!

Jesus had no servants … yet they call Him Master!

Had no degree … yet they called Him Teacher!

Had no medicines … yet they called Him Healer!

He had no army … yet kings feared Him!

He won no military battles, yet … He conquered the world!

He committed no crime … yet they crucified Him!

He was buried in a tomb … YET HE LIVES TODAY!

Did You Know?

Easter is always the first Sunday after the first full moon after the Spring Equinox (which this year is April 20th). This dating of Easter is based on the lunar calendar that Hebrew people used to identify Passover, which is why it moves around on our Roman calendar. Based on the above, Easter can actually be as early as March 22 but that is pretty rare!

New Construction …The new construction is in full swing. So be careful in entering the entrance to the fellowship hall from the parking lot. This new construction will give us some new classrooms, an extended fellowship hall, and also new storage rooms. Also in the construction is a new carport which will be extending out from the back of the building giving us an area to cook outside (grilling) and also a place to have outside fellowship.

Welcome to the Lakeview Church Family … Praise the Lord as He has added two more to our church family to make it stronger! On Sunday morning, March 9th Steve Worsham came forward and joined our church family. On Sunday morning, March 23rd Mike Reinke was baptized and joined our church family. A big warm welcome to Steve and Mike as members of the LBC family of God! We praise the Lord for adding to our family!

25th Anniversary … One of the ways that we are getting the word out about Lakeview Baptist Church’s 25 years of ministry is by putting out signs in our front lawn. Would you join us by putting one out in your front lawn? Signs are available in the front lobby of the sanctuary. We also had extra signs printed to be put out in other areas, so if you know of a good area that we could put one, please take an extra one and put it there for us … Thank you!

Taking Church To Our Shut-InsOn Sunday night, March 30th we took church to George and Betty Sue Buckley’s home. George was a very faithful member of LBC until his health prevented him from coming. Betty Sue and their son Ben and his nieces still attend faithfully as much as they can with George’s health. A great time was had as we sang and opened God’s Word. What a blessing it was to see George’s face during the service! Also a big thank you to all our children who prepared gifts and presented the gifts to them Sunday night.

Adult Resurrection Musical & Dinner … Friday night, April 18th starting at 6:30 PM … the Lakeview Baptist Church Adult Choir will be leading us in praise and worship. So make plans to come join us as we worship our Risen Savior and then enjoy a wonderful meal prepared by our kitchen ministry team!

Resurrection Sunday …We start this special day out by meeting at 6:30 AM with our Sunrise service. Chris Crick will be bringing the sunrise message.

Following the Sunrise service we will have a sunrise breakfast in the fellowship hall.

Paul & Joyce Oliver’s 50th Anniversary …Sunday afternoon at 2:30 PM …Wow … 50 years of marriage! Because of this very special occasion, we are going to host a reception in honor of Paul and Joyce Oliver starting at 2:30 PM. The celebration will be taking place in our fellowship hall with refreshments for everyone.

Everyone that knows Paul and Joyce know that they are a special loving couple! And we just want to take some time to honor them and give everyone in their life an opportunity to come and share with them in this very occasion.

LBC Missions …Every third Thursday, a team of men go to the Hopkinsville jail and bring God’s Word. Praise the Lord, Thursday night, March 20th, we had 7 men come forward and profess Jesus Christ as their personal Savior!

Every fourth Thursday, our kitchen ministry team and volunteers go to the Veteran’s Home in Hopkinsville and Share God’s Love with them and then furnish them a hot meal. This month, Bro. Mike Reinke who is such a gifted writer, read some of his writings to them. They gave him a special ovation when he finished!
